The Chambers & Partners legal directory has highlighted Andersen Tax & Legal as a recommended firm in the areas of 'Dispute Resolution', 'Corporate/M&A', 'Employment' and 'Tax' in the new edition of the Chambers Europe 2019 guide. Specifically, for the first time the areas of Employment and Tax in band 5 and band 6, respectively, are included in the ranking, while the Dispute Resolution department moves up to band 4 and the Corporate/M&A department is placed in band 5 of this ranking which analyses the capacities of firms and lawyers throughout the world.

Specifically, Andersen Tax & Legal has been recognized as one of the best Spanish Corporate/M&A firms and, for the first time, the director of the practice in the Madrid, Valencia and Seville offices, Gonzalo Cerón, is highlighted in the ranking as 'Recognised practitioner'. The editorial gathers the opinion of the clients, who highlight the availability of the team, who “understand the needs and speak the language of their business, offering quick responses and good knowledge”.

Andersen Tax & Legal's Dispute Resolution area climbs to band 4, as does Íñigo Rodríguez-Sastre, head of the firm's International Arbitration area in Spain, who moves up to band 2. The guide highlights the strength of the department in international matters and, especially, the mandates involving Latin American jurisdictions. It also points to the vision of clients who maintain that the firm's lawyers are "impressed" by the ad hoc approach to each case and the ability to "perfectly know the client's needs and adapt to their way of work", while stressing that "the relationship with the different offices is excellent and it works as if it were a single team”.

Chambers & Partners includes for the first time in its ranking the Andersen Tax & Legal Employment department, which ranks in band 5. The responsible of the firm's area in Spain, Alfredo Aspra, is highlighted one more year in band 3, to whom is added the partner of the department Sergio Juárez, who for the first time appears in the guide in the section Up and coming. The editorial emphasizes the opinion of clients, who underline that the firm's lawyers "know how to overcome obstacles and defend points in a strategic way”, while valuing the "proactivity of the team when anticipating the impact of regulatory changes".

The Tax area of Andersen Tax & Legal is also added to the ranking for the first time, and is placed in band 6 of the Chambers ranking, which also highlights the partner of this department Javier Vinuesa in band 4. The guide points to the strong feedback for the capabilities spread across key offices and highlights the advice in M&A and real estate transactions, with further expertise in transfer pricing and in the review of international corporate tax structures, at the same time as it affects the important tax litigation team. According to the guide, clients appreciate the "speed of response of lawyers and the good personal relationship they establish with clients", as well as the fact that "they understand the business well and are really responsive".

Chambers Europe 2019 also recognises the partner of the Insolvency Department Javier Mata, who is in Band 4 of the Restructuring and Insolvency area.

Chambers & Partners, which prepares its annual ranking of firms and lawyers based on the operations carried out during the previous year and the sector assessments and analysis carried out by clients and professionals from different firms, includes in Chambers Europe 2019 the result of the research carried out in 2018.
