70 female jurists sign the Declaration for the Promotion of Women in Managerial Positions promoted by Women in a Legal Word

María Olleros, International Partner of Andersen Tax & Legal and recent member of the Think Tank on the Board (one of the main bodies of the association Women in a Legal World) was one of the 70 female jurists who signed the "Declaration for Equal Opportunities for Women on the Boards of Directors" which aims to promote the presence of women in executive positions at a meeting held at the headquarters of the General Council of Spanish Lawyers.

During the speeches, it was recalled that the percentage of female directors for the total number of listed companies is 18%, 24% for IBEX companies and 15% for companies that are not listed in the selective index. These figures are very far from the 30% recommended by the Code of Good Governance of the National Securities Market Commission and the 40% that constitutes the outlook set out in the 2007 Equality Act.

Among the commitments acquired with the signing of the manifesto, the participating entities are obliged to monitor and promote the representation of women in the decision-making bodies of listed companies, complying with the 30% representation required by the Law on Capital Companies in matters of Corporate Governance by 2020.

Likewise, they commit themselves, when covering a managerial or council position, to take into account women deserving of that position due to their professional trajectory and experience; strive to get the different social agents (media, institutions, companies, etc..) to give visibility to professional women; to contribute to the training of new generations through the creation or support of mentoring programmes; to promote the transparency of the diversity policies followed in each organisation; to draw up reports with objective data to make visible the progress made in this field; and to invite other organisations to implement actions with these same objectives.

Among the signatories are Andersen Tax & Legal, Advanced Governance, Asociación de Letrados de la Administración, Auren, Barrilero, Bayer, Centro Iberoamericano de Arbitraje, Clyde & CO, Consejo General de los Procuradores Españoles, Consejo General de la Abogacía Española, Cuatrecasas, Deloitte Legal, Ecija, Ejaso, Asociación Española de Ejecutiv@s y Consejer@s (EJE&CON), ESADE, EY, Farmaindustria, FB Consultants, Fieldfisher Jausas, Fujitsu, Gómez-Acebo & Pombo, GL Leardship, Grant Thornton, Hogan Lovells, Iberdrola, ICADE, IESE, IFEMA, Incipy, Insudpharma, Interlegis, Jones Day, KPMG, Linklaters, Monereo Meyer Abogados, Merck, Museo del Prado, Mutualidad de la Abogacía, Novartis, Ontier, Pérez Castellanos, Pérez-Llorca, Pinsent Masons, Colegio de Registradores, Repsol, Roca Junyent, Roche, Banco Santander, Telefónica, Técnicas Reunidas, Unicredit and Wolters Kluwer, as well as Isabel Tocino, Marieta Jiménez, Isabel Linares and Eugenia Bieto.
