First edition of the 'Section Awards 2018' organised by the Madrid Bar Association (ICAM)

Jorge Ortiz, senior associate in the area of Public and Regulatory Law at the Andersen Tax & Legal Madrid office, was the winner of the Section 17 of Urbanism award for his work "Imperfections in the equi distributive techniques of benefits and burdens of Spanish urbanism. Proposals for improvement," in its first edition, called by the Madrid Bar Association (ICAM).

Jorge Ortiz proposes three specific measures to improve the imperfections of the existing equi distributive techniques in Spanish town planning, when these do not reflect or adapt to the evolution of the prices of the different real estate markets, thus generating an inequality between land owners.

The decision of the Jury, made up of the presidents of the Sections and the members of the Governing Board appointed for this purpose, was based on the concurrence of merits such as legal-technical quality, doctrinal contribution and dissemination of the most relevant aspects of the world of Applied Law, to highlight the 23 lawyers who won this first edition of the 'Sections 2018 Awards' which cover all branches of Law.

The prize-giving gala will be held on 19 March in the ICAM Assembly Hall and all the work of the winners will be published in the magazine and yearbook of the College.
