The law obliges guaranteeing the education of the employees

Alfredo Aspra analyses the legal obligation of companies to favour the accessibility of their workers to education and training for the benefit of their right to professional promotion

The Galician High Court of Justice (TSJ) has recognized the right of employees who study and work to make the two activities compatible. Specifically, in the ruling of 21 October 2019, the Galician Supreme Court of Justice confirmed the legality of changing shifts to study.

"According to the ruling, the company has a legal obligation to favour the accessibility of its workers to education and training, because this benefits their right to professional promotion which depends, to a great extent, on the worker's training", says Alfredo Aspra, partner of the Labour Area of Andersen Tax & Legal.
